  • CIDE announces dates for The Nutcracker

    CARMEL, IN – OCTOBER 31, 2014 - The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional dance ensemble and resident company of The Center for the Performing Arts, is excited to present its upcoming performance of The Nutcracker. This is CIDE’s first full-length ballet of its 2014-2015 fifteenth anniversary season.

  • CIDE Kicks of Season with "A Night at the Barre" Fundraiser

    CARMEL, IN – SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 - The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional dance ensemble and resident company of The Center for the Performing Arts, will be kicking off its fifteen anniversary season with “A Night at the Barre”, its annual fundraising event. “A Night at the Barre” will take place on November 8 from 6:30-11pm at the Indiana Design Center.

    CARMEL, IN – SEPTEMBER 2, 2014 - The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional dance academy and resident company of The Center for the Performing Arts, along with founding Artistic Director, Suzann DeLay, is pleased to announce its 2014-2015 fifteenth anniversary season:

    • The Nutcracker: December 12-14, 2014 at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center
      Start your holiday season off right with the Stahlbaum family and witness Clara’s dreamlike journey with her Nutcracker Prince while being enchanted by Tchaikovsky’s beautiful score.
    • Mixed Rep: March 1, 2015 at The Tarkington, Center for the Performing Arts
      Featuring “Birthday Variations” by Geraldo Arpino. Mixed Rep is an exciting program that displays classical and contemporary dance at its finest: innovative, energetic and highly entertaining.
    • Cinderella: May 16, 2015 at The Tarkington, Center for the Performing Arts
      The timeless tale of a beautiful young girl, jealous stepsisters, manipulating stepmother and a handsome prince. This tale is bound to warm your heart and make you feel that true love conquers all.


  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Kicks Off Fifteenth Anniversay Season with recognition from the Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation

    CARMEL, IN – AUGUST 6, 2014 – The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional ballet company based in Carmel, Indiana, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation to have Aprino’s Birthday Variations staged by Kim Sagami. Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey are the founders of the Joffrey Ballet and this recognition marks the first time this distinction has been bestowed upon an Indianapolis area company. CIDE is excited to be able to include this piece in its fifteenth anniversary repertoire.

  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Holds Annual Summer Intensive

    From July 23 to August 3, the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE) will hold its annual summer intensive program at the Central Indiana Academy of Dance (CIAOD). Guest teachers include Tong Wang, assistant professor of dance at UC Irvine and former Ballet West principal dancer, Kristin Hakala, former faculty at CIAOD and Ballet West principal dancer, and Marcia Hetrick, alum of CIDE and dancer with the Dayton Ballet Company.

  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Company Member Takes First Place At NSAL Competition

    In February, sixteen year old Hannah Sink, a Central Indiana Dance Ensemble senior company member and a student at the Central Indiana Academy of Dance, won first place in the Ballet Category at the 2012 National Society of Arts and Letters, Bloomington Chapter. The competition was held at the Jacobs School of Music, where awards were given in voice, instrumental and ballet. In addition to the cash award, she will perform along with the top two prizewinners in each category on April 15th at 2:00 PM as part of the NSAL 46th Annual Showcase of the Arts at the John Waldron Arts Center auditorium. Hannah will perform the Diana and Acteon variation.

  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble’s opens 12th annual Nutcracker with a breathtaking performance

    From the moment that Central Indiana Dance Ensemble opened the curtains on its 12th annual Nutcracker Ballet at Zionsville’s Performing Arts Center; the beauty was in the details. From the curls in the party girls’ hair, to the snow falling from the sky, and the gems sparkling on the tutus, not a detail was missed.

  • Local Non-Profit Gives Back to the Community with its own Charitable Donation

    This year, Central Indiana Dance Ensemble’s annual Nutcracker ballet will open on Friday, December 9th at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center— not to a theatre packed with local art enthusiasts and dignitaries, but instead it will open early for a special free performance to a worthy audience comprised of children from the Julian Center and students from the Lighthouse Academy Charter School.

  • CIDE presents its 12th annual production of The Nutcracker

    Central Indiana Dance Ensemble will present its 12th annual production of the Nutcracker on December 9th through 11th at Zionsville Performing Arts Center. Central Indiana Dance Ensemble is a resident company of the Center for the Performing Arts, a Regional Dance America (RDA) Honor Company, and has the area’s longest running full length pre-professional Nutcracker.

    Central Indiana Dance Ensemble and Central Indiana Academy of Dance are thrilled to announce that one of their own, Hannah Sink, will be featured in a solo at the Indianapolis City Ballet’s Young Stars of Ballet performance this Friday evening at Murat Theatre at the Old National Centre.
