    Central Indiana Dance Ensemble to Perform ACT II of Swan Lake at Mixed Rep Production

    CARMEL, IN – FEBRUARY 3, 2016 – The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional ballet company based in Carmel, Indiana, is pleased to announce that it will perform ACT II of Swan Lake at its Mixed Rep production on March 13 at the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre.

    Suzann DeLay, CIDE’s Artistic Director says, “We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to perform pieces from Swan Lake. We are also looking forward to the inclusion of edgy new choreography by Chicago's Eddy Ocampo.”

    Central Indiana Dance Ensemble to Kick Off Season with 2nd Annual “A Night at the Barre” Gala Fundraiser

    CARMEL, IN – SEPTEMBER 23, 2015 - The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional dance ensemble and resident company of The Center for the Performing Arts, will be kicking off its 2015-2016 season with “A Night at the Barre”, its annual fundraising event. “A Night at the Barre” will take place on November 7 from 6:30-10:30pm at the Indiana Design Center.

    The evening will not only showcase the talent of the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble dancers but will also include special guest performances by the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, Carmel High School’s Camerata Symphony Orchestra, and Carmel High School jazz musicians. Enjoy fine food, cocktail stations, a silent auction, and other exciting guest activities throughout the evening.

    “A Night at the Barre” is CIDE’s largest, most integral fundraiser of the year. Proceeds provide critical support for continued community outreach, special choreography opportunities, performance and costume expenses, and scholarships for its dancers.

    Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Announces 2015-2016 Season

    CARMEL, IN – AUGUST 6, 2015 - The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional dance academy and resident company of The Center for the Performing Arts, along with founding Artistic Director, Suzann DeLay, is pleased to announce its 2015-2016 season:

    • The Nutcracker: December 11-13, 2015 at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center Start your Holiday Tradition with a visit to the Stahlbaum family and share in Clara's dreamlike journey with her Nutcracker Prince. Be excited as she battles the evil Rat King, dances with the Snow Maidens, and makes her way to the Land of the Sweets. Enjoy the enchanted music of Tchaikovsky's beautiful score and the beautiful voices of the Indianapolis Childrens Choir. It's a delightful performance not to miss no matter your age.

    • Mixed Rep: March 13, 2016 at The Tarkington, Center for the Performing Arts Featuring Act II of Swan Lake and edgy new choreography by Chicago's Eddy Ocampo, come enjoy an exciting program that displays some of the best pre-professional dancers in the Central Indiana area in a mix of classical and contemporary choreography.

    Central Indiana Dance Ensemble to present Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations at Mixed Rep Production

    CARMEL, IN – FEBRUARY 3, 2015 – The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional ballet company based in Carmel, Indiana, is pleased to announce that it will present Birthday Variations, choreographed by Gerald Arpino, at its Mixed Rep production on March 1 at the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre. CIDE was selected by the Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation to have Arpino’s Birthday Variations staged last August. Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey are the founders of the Joffrey Ballet.

    Suzann DeLay, CIDE’s Artistic Director says, “This is the first time an Indianapolis area company has been asked by the Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation to stage a performance. We are very honored and excited to present Birthday Variations, and it is quite appropriate as it is our 15th anniversary season.”

  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Kicks Off Fifteenth Anniversay Season with recognition from the Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation

    CARMEL, IN – AUGUST 6, 2014 – The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE), a pre-professional ballet company based in Carmel, Indiana, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation to have Aprino’s Birthday Variations staged by Kim Sagami. Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey are the founders of the Joffrey Ballet and this recognition marks the first time this distinction has been bestowed upon an Indianapolis area company. CIDE is excited to be able to include this piece in its fifteenth anniversary repertoire.

  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Holds Annual Summer Intensive

    From July 23 to August 3, the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE) will hold its annual summer intensive program at the Central Indiana Academy of Dance (CIAOD). Guest teachers include Tong Wang, assistant professor of dance at UC Irvine and former Ballet West principal dancer, Kristin Hakala, former faculty at CIAOD and Ballet West principal dancer, and Marcia Hetrick, alum of CIDE and dancer with the Dayton Ballet Company.

  • Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Company Member Takes First Place At NSAL Competition

    In February, sixteen year old Hannah Sink, a Central Indiana Dance Ensemble senior company member and a student at the Central Indiana Academy of Dance, won first place in the Ballet Category at the 2012 National Society of Arts and Letters, Bloomington Chapter. The competition was held at the Jacobs School of Music, where awards were given in voice, instrumental and ballet. In addition to the cash award, she will perform along with the top two prizewinners in each category on April 15th at 2:00 PM as part of the NSAL 46th Annual Showcase of the Arts at the John Waldron Arts Center auditorium. Hannah will perform the Diana and Acteon variation.
