Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, a non-profit dance education and performing arts company, is honored to announce that we will be hosting the 2008 Regional Dance America (RDA) Mid-States Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana May 8-10, 2008. The festival will be called "Circle of Dance" as a proud reference to the city of Indianapolis, which will be hosting this festival for the first time.

Each year, RDA companies representing five regions from across the country gather in a host company's region for a dance festival to share in four days of classes, lectures, seminars and social events. Evening performances are held showcasing the member companies, emerging choreographers and demonstrating the growth they have achieved throughout the year. The interchange among dancers, directors, choreographers and world-class instructors over the intensive festival period is one of the greatest benefits of RDA. Scholarships for continuing dance education will also be awarded to outstanding dancers at the Circle of Dance Festival.

Founded in 1988, RDA recognizes and promotes the work of regional dance companies, educates dancers and the public in the art of dance, and encourages new choreography. Central Indiana Dance Ensemble has been a member company of RDA since 2001. It was awarded RDA honor company status in 2006, achieving that distinction in just a few short years of outstanding accomplishment by company dancers.

The 2008 Circle of Dance senior leadership team consists of Suzann DeLay, Artistic Director and Lisa Frieden and Beverly Suddarth, Festival Coordinators. Dozens of other volunteers are also contributing their time and talents to pull off this rewarding, but demanding event. More than seven hundred dancers and directors from across the country are expected to attend.

The expense associated with hosting this prestigious event is well beyond our means as the hosting company; therefore, we must rely on corporate sponsorship from the community so we can ensure that our guests not only experience the richness of education for which the event has become known, but also experience Indianapolis as a community that supports the artistic and cultural development of youth. Thank you in advance for your consideration of supporting the 2008 Circle of Dance Festival as a corporate sponsor.
