Saturday, December 12, 2020 - Nutcracker Update
Due to Governor Holcomb’s new COVID order going into effect at 12:01 a.m. Sunday morning (rather than Monday morning as anticipated), CIDE has decided for the safety of our dancers, audience, staff and volunteers to cancel both Sunday, December 13th performances of this year's production of The Nutcracker.
We know that you are as disappointed in this decision as we are. To show our appreciation of your support of CIDE, all Sunday ticket holders will be provided a link to view our performance at your leisure at home starting Wednesday, December 16th. Please check your email for directions on how to access the virtual performance. While we know this won’t be the same as an in-theatre experience, we hope that this opportunity to view CIDE’s Nutcracker will bring joy to your holiday season.
At a time of incredible financial struggle for the performing arts, we hope you will consider donating the cost of your tickets. If you choose to donate your tickets, a tax letter will be sent to the email address used to purchase tickets. However, CIDE will be honoring refunds at this time. If you would like a refund of your tickets please contact The Paramount directly at boxoffice@andersonparamount.org.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Every decision we have made this season has been with the health and safety of our audiences, dancers, staff and crew at the forefront and this is no different. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
We wish you and yours a safe and healthy holiday season!
Sincerely,
CIDE Board and Artistic Staff

Friday, November 13, 2020 - CIDE Season Update
Central Indiana Dance Ensemble is thrilled to be holding our 21st annual Nutcracker performance in-person at The Paramount Theatre in Anderson, IN! Built in 1929, this beautiful, historic theatre was restored in 1995. We are grateful for the opportunity to perform at the Paramount and can't wait to welcome our families and audiences to this venue for our 2020 performance.
The health and well-being of our community, artists, patrons, and staff is our top priority as we open the doors for live performances of The Nutcracker. Audiences for The Nutcracker will have greatly reduced capacity and adhere to the recommended distancing of six feet between seats. Additional measures include mandatory face masks, hand sanitizing stations and immediate seating to limit congregating in the lobby.
Even with these safety measures, we recognize that many of our patrons may be uncomfortable or unable to attend a live performance this year. No worries, you can still participate! We will be offering a virtual on-demand showing of The Nutcracker available to watch from the comfort of your own home December 16-23, 2020.
2020 is different from any other year we have experienced as an organization. We know you probably have more questions about our performances. We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help guide you as you choose how to experience the art of classical ballet this season. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us as info@cidedance.org!
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble!
Sincerely,
CIDE Board and Artistic Staff

Thursday May 28, 2020 - CIDE Season Update
It is with great sadness that we write to tell you CIDE has cancelled our upcoming performances of The Wizard of Oz on October 31 & November 1, 2020.
Although The Center for the Performing Arts will reopen on July 1st for resident company performances, they have instituted strict protocol through December 1, 2020 to keep performers and audience members safe. These measures are absolutely needed for the good of our community and we fully support the care our partners at the CftPA have taken to protect all involved. However, the necessary measures put non-profit performing arts groups such as CIDE in a difficult position. In order to maintain social distancing, the number of seats available in the theatre has been decreased significantly. Additionally, we would have to make cuts to our cast size and significant changes to choreography in order to maintain social distancing on stage.
Based on the above reasoning, the Board of Directors and Artistic Staff has determined it is simply not feasible to stage The Wizard of Oz on October 31 and November 1. In order to present the high quality production our audiences know and love, we have opted to wait and bring The Wizard of Oz to the stage as part of our 2020-2021 season in May 2021.
Due to the significant delay in the performance, the Board of Directors has opted to refund Wizard of Oz tickets rather than transfer to the later date. Please allow 7-10 days for processing of all refunds. If you have any questions regarding previously purchased tickets for either performance, please reach out to The CFtPA directly. The Box Office is currently closed, but Patron Services staff are available to assist you via email at Tickets@TheCenterPresents.org.
Tickets for our 2020-2021 season will go on sale soon and we hope you will join us for our 21st season!
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble!
Sincerely,
CIDE Board and Artistic Staff

Friday, May 1, 2020 - CIDE Season Update
All of us at Central Indiana Dance Ensemble hope that you and your families are staying healthy and safe at home. We are living through incredibly challenging times in both our personal and professional lives. Even in all of the uncertainty, know that we are more committed than ever to our mission of educating, inspiring and performing through the art of classical ballet in central Indiana.
As a resident company of the Center of the Performing Arts, we continue to work with our partners at the center to be part of the solution for the safety of our audiences, artists, students, & staff. Given the guidelines issued by state and federal officials, The CFtPA has suspended all programming and performances on its campus through June 30, 2020. As such, Central Indiana Dance Ensemble's 2019-2020 20th anniversary season has been forced to an abrupt end.

How will CIDE move forward?
Our performance of Mixed Rep, previously scheduled for March 29th, has been cancelled. We had truly hoped to bring this stunning program to life at a later date, but given the current circumstances it is not feasible this season.
However, there is still some hope somewhere over the rainbow!
The Wizard of Oz has been rescheduled for October 31 & November 1, 2020. We have opted to hold two matinee performances at 1:00 pm to give dancers and audience members an opportunity to participate in Halloween trick-or-treating festivities. We are excited to host a costume parade and photo opportunities at each performance to celebrate the spirit of the season!
If you have any questions regarding previously purchased tickets for either performance, please reach out to The CFtPA directly. The Box Office is currently closed, but Patron Services staff are available to assist you via email at Tickets@TheCenterPresents.org.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this time. We are absolutely heartbroken that we are not able to bring Mixed Rep and The Wizard of Oz to the stage this year to celebrate our 20th anniversary season. This was not a decision that was made lightly, but one that we feel is necessary for the health and safety of our dancers and community. We are grateful to our partners at the Center for the Performing Arts for working with us to ensure the curtain will still rise on The Wizard of Oz during our 2020-2021 season.
We hold steadfast to our mission of educating, inspiring and performing in the Central Indiana community and we are honored that you are a part of bringing this mission to life!
Sincerely,
Suzann DeLay

Tuesday, March 24, 2020 – Upcoming Performances Update
Greetings and best wishes to all dancers, audience members, and patrons of Central Indiana Dance Ensemble. We hope this update finds you all healthy and among loved ones.
The world is turning very quickly as we try to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. Central Indiana Dance Ensemble understands the need to take significant measures to protect the health of all our citizens. As a resident company for The Center for the Performing Arts, we are proud to partner with them to be part of the solution for the safety of our audiences, artists, students, and staff. Given the guidelines issued by state and federal officials, The CFtPA has suspended all programming and performances on its campus through May 11, 2020. (Please see a copy of the press release issued by The CFtPA here).
What does this mean for Central Indiana Dance Ensemble?
Mixed Rep: Our performance of Mixed Rep, previously scheduled for March 29th, has been postponed. CIDE has prepared a stunning repertoire performance of innovative and breathtaking original choreography by world-renowned artists, rounded out with the third act of Marius Petipa’s prestigious ballet Paquita. We love this program and hope to be able to share it with our community at a later date. We are currently working with the Center for the Performing Arts to secure a new performance date and will provide updates as they become available.
Wizard of Oz: At this time, we are still excited to bring our premiere production of Jill Eathorne-Bahr’s The Wizard of Oz to the Tarkington stage on May 16 & 17! If there are changes, we will send notifications by email, update you here on the website, and announce on social media.
If you have any questions regarding previously purchased tickets for either performance, please reach out to The CFtPA directly. The Box Office is currently closed, but Patron Services staff are available to assist you via email at Tickets@TheCenterPresents.org.
To minimize risk to our communities, we are asking those who feel unwell or uncomfortable to stay home. CIDE is currently utilizing virtual resources to hold classes and rehearsals remotely. Our dancers are working hard from home and eager to return to the stage when it is deemed safe. We will continue to closely monitoring the developments of COVID-19 outbreak here in central Indiana and globally, and will update this page as we know more.
We hold steadfast to our mission of educating, inspiring and performing in the Central Indiana Community and we are so honored that you are a part of bringing this mission to life!
Sincerely,
Suzann DeLay
